Pororo, Best Friend Forever
Sora took an instant licking to Pororo. She would not let him go!

Thanks Halmoni for Sora’s first favourite toy.

Eric finds his fashion role models on the streets of Bali.

In front of the temple we didn’t end up going in. Sora’s face tells us, it’s way too hot!

Winding down at a coffee farm where we were served tasting coffee and Luwak coffee for 50,000 rupees.

One of the favourite places we visited in Bali, the water temple. People immerse themselves in the pool and pray in front of the pouring water. It was dusk by the time we got there but we’re glad we made it.

A good meal ends this long day. Warung Enak is fast becoming our staple dinner place.

Tour de Bali 1
Eric and I had already done the sight seeing last time we were here but wanted to show Sora and the grandparents the highlights. We picked out what we thought was best of the best.

Klung Klung Palace and the amazing paintings on the ceiling. Looks like ancient world’s equivalent of comic books.

Rice fields viewpoint where Sora was popular with the women selling sarongs.

The temple of all Hindu temples. We went armed with sarongs this time as to avoid the hassle of having to borrow. Luckily this day was a special day and the temple site was busy with people coming to pray.

It’s been a tough day for Sora. The heat was pretty oppressive throughout but fortunately afternoon became quite cloudy with some occasional breeze.

Sora grabs the bottle with her hands! She can’t really hold it yet though

Lunch with the view of foggy Mount Kintamani.

Barong Dance
In the evening all of us went to Ubud town to see a Barong performance. Sora fell asleep midway but woke up in time for photo op with the performers. It’s always nice to see a performance in Ubud – we love the outdoor setting in front of a Hindu temple and there’s never a crowd.

Sora rolls over!
Was it seeing Halmoni and Haraboji? Was she excited by her new toy? Sora rolled over on her belly for the first time in the morning and did it again and again.

She wants to crawl too! One thing at a time little Sora.

Grandparents Song came all the way from Seoul to hang out with little Sora. They came bearing gifts of baby stuff, including Bubsy’s first ribbon headband.

Schwimming Sora
Sporting her first swim suit complete with built-in diaper.

Sora’s very first time in big water. She did so well!

Hello Bali
We were here just one year ago, pre-Sora. It’s great to be back with baby in tow.

Our home for the next week.

More Purple Cane
Impressed by the Purple Cane in Ipoh, when we spotted the sister chain in KL we knew we found our lunch.

Sora’s appetizer.

Our lunch. Different food but equally good.

Ipoh with Bubsy
At the suggestion of friends we took a day trip to Ipoh, north of KL. Actually the day trip turned into night trip since we only got there late afternoon in time for the night market. The heat was oppressive even after sundown. We would have loved to try the famous eatery there but had to give that up for somewhere where we can escape the heat…

which is how we found Purple Cane, their excellent gourmet food and super friendly staff.

Bubsy, relieved from the heat, finds her fingers again and then milk and sleepy time…

Day 99: Out and about and eats
We met up with Izu and Suzanne for catching up and dimsum at the Mandarin O,

then hopped on next door to KLCC for our all-time favourite Madame Kwan’s nasi lamek.

For some reason Bubsy was not a big fan of nasi lamek, perhaps in a couple of years time…

We hit the food street Jalan Alor on our first night in town. It’s our kind of place when you don’t have to worry about getting good eats at 11pm.

On this yere wedding day of Will+Kate…
Hear ye, hear ye… on this day of the royal wedding, we embarked on yet another family trip to Kuala Lumpur, then Bali with halmoni and haraboji song, then to Bangkok to get some Thai food and take turns with 2-3 hour massage for mum (her body aches) And maybe, Luang Prabang in Laos if we can fit it in.
